SHOW MANAGER
- A Show Manager must:
- be pre-approved by DallyPost prior to promoting or producing a sanctioned show.
- not schedule an event if there is a previously scheduled event, with the same mix of DallyPost Sanctioned classes, on the same date and within a 150 miles driving distance as calculated by www.mapquest.com.
- insure that every rider signs a release form prior entering the arena. The release form must include "I have read and agree to the terms set forth in the Official DallyPost Ranch Versatility Rule Book".

- A release form for each rider.
- retain a copy of all documents submitted to DallyPost, Inc. for a period of two years.
JUDGING
- Show managers are encouraged to contract the services of carded judges from NRCHA, NRHA, NCHA or Breed Associations that offer classes similar to those included in the Versatility Ranch Horse class. Where carded judges are not available, show managers may contract individuals who are qualified by experience to judge the class. A judge may not:
- judge a division in which he is a contestant.
- judge a division in which a member of the judge's immediate family is a contestant.
- All judging must be completed on an approved DallyPost Score Card.
- It is recommended that all score cards be presented to the rider after the score has been recorded on the division sheet. This practice will allow the rider to review the card and use it as a springboard to improving performance in future events. Where time allows, the judge will review each score with the riders in a group setting so the each rider may ask questions and fully understand why the score was given.
DIVISIONS
- The division system has been designed to place each horse/rider combination in a division with other horse/rider combinations that possess similar skills and abilities. This is accomplished by maintaining a floating division eligibility for each horse/rider combination. Division eligibility is based in all scores earned in the immediately preceding twelve months. After each show, class scores will be entered into the division system. As each score is entered, an updated division eligibility will be calculated as follows:
- A qualifying versatility score will be earned for each complete set of scores which include ranch riding, ranch reining, ranch cutting and ranch cow. Because class shows offer less than the four versatility classes, it is possible that some riders may not have an equal number of scores for each of the four classes. In this case, qualifying versatility scores will be equal to the number of scores recorded for the class least attended. For example, assume that, in the last twelve months, a horse/rider combination has earned seven ranch riding scores, seven ranch reining scores, six ranch cow scores and three ranch cutting scores. In this case, the horse/rider will have earned three versatility scores which will be based on the three cutting scores and the three most recently earned scores for the remaining classes.
- For Versatility Shows, division eligibility shall be the average of all versatility scores earned in the preceding twelve months, rounded down to the next whole number.
- For Class Shows, division eligibility shall be modified to reflect the average scores of only those classes being offered.
- Division Organization:
- Division 4 includes entries with division eligibility of 75 or higher or entries that have not established division eligibility.
- Division three includes entries with division eligibility of 65 or higher and below division four.
- Division two includes entries with division eligibility of 55 or higher and below division three.
- Division one includes entries with division eligibility below 55.
POINTS
- Points shall be earned at each sanctioned show as follows:
- Calculate the number of horse/rider combinations to earn points in each division by dividing total division entries by 3 and rounding up to the next whole number.
- Eligible riders shall receive points equal to (1 + (1 X number of point earning entries, regardless of division, whose final score was less than the entry in question's final score)).
SHOW PURSES
- In any show that offers a purse, the purse will be divided among point earning entries as follows:
- Calculate a point value by dividing the total purse by total number of points earned in all divisions.
- Calculate each riders earnings by multiplying "point value" by points earned.
YEAR_END PURSES
- A horse-rider combination shall be eligible to earn year-end purse dollars if:
- The rider is in good standing.
- The horse/rider combination has earned a minimum of five versatility scores in the competition year.
- The total year-end purse shall consist of:
- 50% of all advertising revenue generated through the placement of banner ads on all DallyPost network sites in calendar year.
- 50% of the team registration fee.
- High Point Purse: funded with 30% of the total year-end purse.
- Purpose:
This purse shall provide money for high point horse/rider combinations.
- Purpose:
- Mentors Purse: funded with 70% of the total year-end purse.
- Purpose:
This purse shall provide added money for top earning mentoring teams. Mentoring teams shall be formed as an incentive for advanced riders to provide real assistance for less experienced riders. - A mentoring team shall consist of two horse/rider combinations.
- Teams may be created at any time prior to June 1st of the competition year. At team creation, the senior team member must have division eligibility based on two of more scores which places him or her in one of the top two divisions and the junior team member must have division eligibility based on two or more scores which places him or her below the top two divisions.
- Points considered for team placement will be limited to those earned at shows where both team members earned a score in all available classes. Regardless of the team creation date, all earnings in the competition year shall be applied to the final placement.
- Purse payout shall be completed on or before the last day of February following the competition year as follows:
- Calculate the number of horse/rider combinations (or teams in the case of the Mentors Purse) to be paid by dividing eligible horse/rider combinations (or teams in the case of the Mentors Purse) by 5 and rounding up to the next whole number.
- If horse/rider combinations (or teams in the case of the Mentors Purse) to be paid = 0, purse will be carried forward to the next competition year.
- Pay 50% to the top earning entry, 25% to the alternate and divide the remainder equally between the remaining entries.
