Larry Trocha and Cutting

I stumbled across a series of training videos by Larry Trocha that I kind of like. I think that you will enjoy them as well. In this series, Larry is working with a three year of cutting filly.

I won't try to tell you about these videos because Larry will do a much better job than I will. There is, however, one point that I want to make. As I put on my cow horse clinics, I see one thing far to often. For some reason, people just hate to give up on a cow even when things start to go wrong. When our horse starts to get out of shape, we just keep working the cow. When our horse starts to fall apart and begins doing something wrong, we keep working the cow. This is a huge mistake. We have to put away the natural man in order to find the horseman within.

As you watch these videos, pay close attention to how Larry will immediately forget about the cow and focus on the horse the very second anything gets a little bit out of whack.

Enjoy!

After four long days in the sun, I count myself blessed to have more than forty new friends, most under the age of fourteen. Oh, what an awesome group of young people. Truly, the experience... read more

Is Ranch Versatility for You?

Is Ranch Versatility for everyone? In the real world, I would have to say no. In the real world the competition is fierce and those who cannot turn in a world class performance will simply be donating their money to those who can. Ahhh, but in the DallyPost world, things are a bit different. The... read more
