Located in the beautiful Yellow River Valley, twelve miles from the Mississippi River in NE Iowa, Scenic View Ranch has been raising Champion horses for 40 years and breeding Elk and Big Horned Sheep since 1994.
Scenic View Ranch has sold its superb horses to clients in Italy, Germany, Australia, South America, Sweden, Holland and nearly every province in Canada as well as every state in the US lower 48.
In 2003, my son, Rex and I added another 2.5 miles of Elk fence to create a wildlife preserve. In this natural setting among the woods, fields and bluffs is where we allow limited hunting of the older trophy bulls, Big Horned Rams, and Wild Boar. Hunts run from September 1st - March 1st. Many visitors drive here and park along the road just to listen to the Elk Bulls bugling during this time. Some even try to imatate the bulls bugling. You know who you are...

Trail riding is very popular in this area. The APHA and AQHA have sponsered rides that start at The Natural Gait and break for lunch here at the ranch. There is music at night, poetry, dances, great food, and overnight accomodations for you and your horse.
